This was such a great day, for this day trading. When I woke up this morning I was still a little bit disappointed from my loss from yesterday. So I was into very anxious to start trading once again. Especially since I have had a few days of red days. I started the day in the simulator.
I started the trade-ideas platform and opened up the only alert system that I am following at the moment. The first Alert that came into the system was at 8:40 for the symbol $OSTK. It came in at $19.09 and I jumped in with out hesitation, because this was a symbol that I’m aware of and that I’ve traded in the past. I entered a 500 share position at $19.25, but I only looked at the 5 minute chart. Which was not very wise, cause when I saw the price move down to $19.16, I got stopped out of my position. Took 2 minutes to lose 11 cents.
I kept watching it because it began moving up, once it stopped me out. So when I saw the price continue upward, I re-entered with another 500 shares, but this time at $19.53. Price moved up very slowly and I exited the position at $19.77 for fear of it going down. After the dust settled, I finished with $48 in the green.
The other Alert that popped up into the only alert system that I’m using. Was $THC at 8:46 for $22.81. I didn’t recognize this symbol, so I was hesitant to move into a trade. But after looking over the daily chart and the 5 minute chart for a bit. I decided to enter the trade with a market order and got filled at $23.02. It moved up right after and exited the position when my 30 cent target goal was met. I used another market order to get out, resulting in a total net profit of $212.
Now if only I can do that in the real money account.
